Rev. Sheri Lashley was reared in western Oklahoma in a family of six; two boys, two girls, and parents that were both in the medical profession. Her family was always involved in church and beginning from the start they were members of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). From the time she was in the fifth grade, she and her family were active in the United Methodist Church in Elk City. Sheri was active in the UMYF, played the church organ occasionally, and was vice-chairperson on the Administrative Council as a senior in high school. After graduating from Elk City High School, Sheri attended Phillipls University in Enid, OK, where she earned a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Music Theory with emplasis in both Voice and Choral Conducting.

Sheri currently serves on the Board of Ordained Ministry and has served on the Small Church Commission. She also serves as Board Liaison of the District Board on Ministry of Cimarron District. She has been a substitute teacher in the Arnett school system and currently has 10 students of piano and voice. She love crafting, making scarves, stoles, banners, and paraments for church worship. Reading is another favorite for Sheri and she loves spending time with her Yorkie/Schnauzer mix, Zoe.

Sheri has two sons, Jason, 30, and Stephen, 24. Her passion in ministry is her love for worship, exuberant preaching, and wishing for all to bring worship to the living of their everyday lives. She believes that mission and discipleship comes from passionate worship in our lives.

One shouldn't be surprised if Sheri sings occasionally during her sermons, or in different worship settings. She loves God's children and wishes for each of them a relationship with our Creator, our Lord and Savior, and with the Holy Spirit who sustains us in our living day to day.
